Historical status at initial publication — 18 October 2026:
Status at publication: the author has received no acknowledgment of receipt of the email. The supplied printout of the sent email records the content of the communication dated 18 October 2026. It does not establish that the Supreme Court received or read the email, or that the appeal on points of law and case files were delivered to the Court, registered or assigned for handling.
Milan Lakatoš Petrović, identified in the proceedings as Milan Petrović, the plaintiff in case P2 1435/24, writes to the Supreme Court administration to inquire about receipt, the case number and the current status of the appeal on points of law dated 29 May 2026 against the second-instance decision Gž2 211/26 of 22 April 2026. If the files have not arrived, he requests any available information about their progress or the court he should contact. The inquiry does not seek information about the substance of judicial deliberations.
In a separate informational part, he presents Origin Dossier as an organised archive of original documents, chronology and arguments concerning his adoptions in 1979 and 1984, his origins, original identity and the course of the proceedings. He explains the personal significance of the Croatian and Hungarian versions alongside the English version, and the availability of official records in their original form.
The author expressly states that the archive does not replace the official court file, that the communication neither supplements the appeal on points of law nor introduces new grounds, and that he is not requesting a particular outcome. He mentions the possibility of an inadvertent administrative omission as a reason for precaution, without claiming that an omission occurred or that anyone deliberately withheld documentation. This item preserves his administrative inquiry and informational notice; receipt and action by the Court remain unconfirmed.
Update of 20 October 2026 - the Court Registry has replied
The statement that the author had received no acknowledgment describes the position when this inquiry was published on 18 October 2026 and is retained as a historical record. On 20 October, Milanka Ranković, Deputy Head of the Court Registry, expressly replied to that request, confirming registration of the appeal on points of law as Rev 6599/26 and forwarding of the author’s submission to the reporting judge for information.
The separately preserved SAPS record displays receipt and assignment to Judge Dragana Marinković on 13 July and a document entry dated 19 October. The response does not establish that the judge read the submission, visited Origin Dossier, formally incorporated the archive into the file or decided the appeal.
