Double Adoption Loop
The 1984 adoption is not a footnote. It uses the Vasić identity created by the 1979 full adoption as the procedural input for another transfer.
The contradiction is structural: first Milivoj Miletić is rewritten as Milan Vasić; then Vasić Milan is used as the child in a second adoption; then the register seals Petrović Milan. This is a double adoption loop, not a clean welfare correction.
Documentary continuation — the 1979 and 1984 acts
The record of 21 June 1979 declares full adoption by Milorad and Gospava Vasić and changes the child’s name from Milivoj Miletić to Milan Vasić. The consent record of 12 September 1984 then presents Milorad as the father giving consent for another adoption. In that same statement he says that his new wife Ratka could not tolerate Milan, that he placed the child in foster care to preserve his new marriage, and that he had maintained no contact since August 1983. Vera Radovanović heard this statement.
The record of 26 September 1984 uses Vasić Milan as the child entering the second adoption and cites Milorad’s consent. The civil-register extract after that adoption records Petrović Milan. These are successive records of the same person.
Article 40 is the central legal obstacle
The 1976 SAPV Adoption Act states in Article 40 that full adoption may not be dissolved. Its second paragraph concerns restriction or deprivation of an adopter’s parental rights; it does not empower the adopter to dissolve full adoption by consent. Milorad’s statement of 12 September is not an annulment of the 1979 act. Neither of the two cited 1984 records identifies such an annulment. Article 7 separately regulates adoption by more than one person and the exception for spouses.
The appeal of 18 March 2026 and revision of 29 May 2026 develop the author’s argument about this unresolved legal transition. The first-instance judgment and Appellate Court judgment provide the actual judicial responses for comparison.
