Bojana Vujić’s panel: plaintiff alone, Maja Petrović’s adoption-law defence and an agreed two-year framework — 6 February 2025
The plaintiff maintains his claim, acts without professional legal assistance and proposes “a settlement, which is very reasonable”. Maja Petrović defends the adoption under the 1976 Act while asking 30 days to obtain and study it; her statement gives both 1976 and 21 June 1979 for the ruling. On the parties’ joint proposal, the panel sets a two-year/12-hearing framework and schedules 26 March.
Basic Court in Novi Sad 2025-02-06
At the non-public hearing of 6 February 2025, P2.1435/24, Bojana Vujić presides, Milan Petrović attends personally and Maja Petrović represents the defendant CSR. The record states that the plaintiff’s former lawyer refused receipt of the summons after revocation of her power of attorney. The plaintiff tells the court he will act on his own and will not engage professional legal assistance. He maintains his action and claim.
The plaintiff proposes examination of himself as a party and of the written documents, and offers the opposing party “a settlement, which is very reasonable”, requesting 30 days to reach it. No terms are recorded. He states that his ultimate aim is to establish paternity before the competent court in Kragujevac and explains his understanding that the full-adoption status under the 1976 Act prevents him from initiating that case before this one ends.
Maja Petrović opposes the claim by invoking the Adoption Act of AP Vojvodina. In the same statement she places the adoption ruling in 1976 and on 21 June 1979, and requests 30 days to familiarize herself with the Act, which she must obtain from the Provincial Secretariat’s library. She accepts examination of the plaintiff and documents, opposes his proposed witnesses, and says she does not understand the proposed settlement. She also states that a social worker searched for his biological mother Cvita Miletić in 2005 and promises to provide the details.
The plaintiff agrees to her requested period and adjournment. The record expressly says that both parties jointly propose a two-year procedural framework with 12 hearings and agree on the next date. The panel adopts that framework and schedules 26 March 2025 at 10:00. It grants the CSR representative 30 days for her position, the plaintiff 30 days for his witness decision and 60 days for employment or unemployment evidence. Fee exemption itself is not granted. The hearing ends at 09:25.
A separately marked later author’s account states that his former lawyer refused to attend and that he does not know why she was summoned after representation ended. He describes his own settlement offer as unexpected for those present. That account is separate from the court record’s refusal-of-receipt entry.
