Basic Court in Novi Sad 2024-04-29
On 29 April 2024, Judge Bojana Vujić issued the Basic Court in Novi Sad’s ruling P2.470/2024 in Milan Petrović’s claim against the city’s Centre for Social Work for annulment of full adoption. The court declares that it lacks subject-matter jurisdiction and orders the file sent to the Appellate Court in Novi Sad to resolve the jurisdictional conflict.
The reasoning records the claim of 22 February, the Higher Court’s ruling of 26 February, the correction request of 13 March and the objection of 1 April. It recounts the plaintiff’s challenge to the appeal instruction, the lack of a response to the correction request and the date marked for finality. These are preserved as the court’s account of the plaintiff’s submission.
The court cites Article 24(2) of the Act on the Organization of Courts, Article 358(1) of the Family Act and Article 28(1) of the Adoption Act of the SAP of Vojvodina, Official Gazette No.24/76. It identifies adoption decision UP.03-507/79 of 21 June 1979 and states that no appeal against its ruling is permitted.
A separately marked author’s note explains why he began representing himself in November 2024, his experience with three lawyers, the financial burden and his insistence on explicitly addressing forced assimilation. That later account is separate from the court’s ruling.
